Pro-Life Billboard Targets Atlanta Abortion Center

Atlanta, Ga. A billboard with the message, "Don't Abort Me!" goes up today across the street from a leading Atlanta abortion center. The billboard shows two cute babies and a silhouette of a baby symbolizing the babies missing from families due to abortion.

"We want women considering abortion to see the beauty and value of life," said Wesley Wilson, president of Let Her Live, a pro-life nonprofit group based in Greenville, S.C. "We want mothers to remember that they are not carrying a 'blob of tissue,' but a beautiful baby made in the image of God."

Don't Abort Me! billboard on Piedmont Avenue in Atlanta placed by Let Her Live, copyright 2007.

The billboard on Piedmont Avenue near the intersection with Cheshire Bridge Road gives the group's web address, www.LetHerLive.org, and the phone number for a Georgia call center run by the Pregnancy Resource Center of Gwinnett.

The call center refers women to pregnancy centers offering services such as free pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, abortion information, and counseling throughout the state. The Let Her Live website also offers related information and links to many pregnancy resources.

The advertisement is placed strategically to be visible to those entering or leaving the Piedmont Pointe shopping center, which contains Summit Medical Associates, Abortion Advice Services, and one office of Atlanta SurgiCenter, among other businesses.

"Our billboard may be the last beacon of hope for some women in crisis pregnancies," Wilson said. "If you feel abortion is your only choice, call a counselor and learn about the other choices available."

This billboard is the first one placed by Let Her Live in its billboard campaign to help pregnant women find alternatives to abortion and obtain counseling. The group plans to place full-color billboards featuring pictures of babies and compelling pro-life messages near leading abortion clinics, abortion referral clinics, and high-risk areas in the southeastern U.S., and across the nation.
