Let Her Live statement On George Tiller death

Let Her Live is committed to protecting mothers and babies from abortion through our educational and advertising efforts. We do not practice or support violence, such as was recently used against abortionist George Tiller. Tiller personally killed thousands of innocent unborn babies, if not tens of thousands or more. Tiller specialized in late-term abortions. Many of his victims could likely have survived outside the womb with standard medical care.

The circumstances surrounding the attempts to prosecute Tiller for allegedly violating abortion laws led many people to believe that powerful friends were protecting Tiller. If the justice system had operated without hindrance, perhaps the individual who took Tiller's life would not have felt it necessary to take matters into his own hands.

While we pause to take note of abortionist Tiller's violent death, we must not forget that other lives are as valuable as his was. The shooting deaths of seven people in Chicago on the same weekend are no less tragic than Tiller's death. And the daily killing of thousands at abortion clinics across the country snuffs out lives with as much potential as Tiller had.

We are sobered and saddened by the unrepentant death of someone responsible for the deaths of so many, who had so many years to turn from his evil, before he faced the judgment of God. We pledge to continue working peacefully to persuade not only mothers, but also abortion providers, to embrace the right to life for all people.

Sincerely,
Wesley Wilson
